The Skagit Floodplain Riparian Project represents a major effort to restore vegetation communities and floodplain function in the Skagit River floodplain. The floodplains of the Skagit provide important freshwater habitat for all Chinook salmon fry, but more expressly for those life history strategies that depend on freshwater habitat for extended rearing such as parr migrants and yearlings.
