Irrigation Fish Screens Lower Touchet River  (32-00538)

Status: Active - started on 1/8/1996 Project details Show on map The Snake River Salmon Recovery Plan identifies unscreened irrigation diversions as a imminent threat to the survival of salmon and steelhead in the Touchet River. The Snake River Salmon Recovery Board has been working with its partners to bring all irrigation diversion up to compliance in regards to proper screening. To date the Walla Walla County Conservation District has secures funding designed and installed screens protecting endangered summer steelhead Chinook and bull trout.read more
